Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 24 at 6:02PM MDT until July 24 at 6:15PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM
At 602 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Albuquerque,
moving west at 20 mph.
HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and small hail.
SOURCE…At 601 PM MDT, the Albuquerque Sunport recorded a wind gust
of 78 mph.
IMPACT…Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile
homes, roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include…
Albuquerque, Corrales, Los Ranchos De Albuquerque, Paradise Hills,
North Valley, South Valley and Alameda.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 145 and 164. Interstate 25 between
Mile Markers 222 and 233.
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm has produced widespread
damaging winds.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
