Flood Advisory issued July 24 at 8:35PM EDT until July 24 at 10:30PM EDT by NWS Columbia SC

* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Southern Bamberg County in central South Carolina…

* WHEN…Until 1030 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 835 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Rivers Bridge State Park and Ehrhardt.

Most flooding deaths occur in vehicles. Never drive through a flooded
roadway or around barricades. Turn around, don’t drown.

Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
