Special Weather Statement issued July 22 at 9:59PM EDT by NWS Morristown TN

At 959 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 8
miles northwest of Smoky Mountains-Twentymile Creek, or 14 miles
south of Maryville, moving east at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Smoky Mountains-Twentymile Creek, Smoky Mountains-Fontana Area,
Townsend, Talassee, Cades Cove, Happy Valley, and Deals Gap.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
