* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE…West Central Carter County in east Tennessee…
Northeastern Greene County in east Tennessee…
East Central Hawkins County in east Tennessee…
Western Sullivan County in east Tennessee…
Northern Washington County in east Tennessee…
* WHEN…Until 245 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
Water over roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1248 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have
fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol Tn, Elizabethton, Jonesborough,
Gray, Spurgeon, Colonial Heights, Oak Grove and Midway.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
In hilly terrain there are hundreds of low water crossings which are
potentially dangerous in heavy rain. Do not attempt to cross flooded
roads. Find an alternate route.
