At 519 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located near Roland, or 13
miles north of Nevada, moving southeast at 30 mph.
HAZARD…Two inch hail and 60 mph wind gusts.
SOURCE…Broadcast media reported golf ball sized hail near Roland.
IMPACT…People and animals outdoors will be injured. Expect hail
damage to roofs, siding, windows, and vehicles. Expect wind
damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include…
Story City, Roland, Zearing, McCallsburg, and Garden City.
This includes Interstate 35 between mile markers 122 and 128.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 1000 PM CDT for central Iowa.

building.
