Flood Advisory issued July 20 at 11:28PM EDT until July 21 at 3:30AM EDT by NWS Raleigh NC
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of central North Carolina, including the
following counties, Harnett, Johnston, Sampson, Wayne and Wilson.
* WHEN…Until 330 AM EDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 1128 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 2 and 3 inches of rain
have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 3 inches are expected
over the area. This additional rain will result in minor
flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Goldsboro, Mount Olive, Dunn, Fremont, Walnut Creek, Pine
Level, Princeton, Pikeville, Newton Grove, Eureka, Seven
Springs, Grantham, Mar-Mac, Brogden, Nahunta, Elroy, Hobbton,
Cliffs Of The Neuse State Park and Spivey’s Corner.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be especially cautious at night when it is harder to recognize the
dangers of flooding.
