Special Weather Statement issued July 19 at 11:30PM EDT by NWS Wilmington NC
At 1127 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated a strong thunderstorm
between Lauren Hill and Red Springs, moving toward the east
at 15 mph. Another thunderstorm was located near Maxton, also moving
toward the east.
HAZARD…Wind gusts of 30 to 40 mph, and cloud to ground lightning.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.
Locations impacted include…
Red Springs, Pembroke, Maxton, St. Pauls, Rex, Shannon,
Buie, Robeson Community College, Wakulla, Prospect, Parkton, Rennert,
and Lumber Bridge.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
