Special Weather Statement issued July 19 at 3:25PM EDT by NWS Newport/Morehead City NC

At 325 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Sladesville, or 28 miles north of Cedar Island, moving northeast at
20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Sladesville, Swindell Fork, Scranton, New Holland, Pamlico Beach,
Rose Bay, and Swan Quarter Ferry Terminal.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

A Severe Thunderstorm Watch remains in effect until 800 PM EDT for
eastern North Carolina.
