Special Weather Statement issued July 17 at 5:31PM MDT by NWS Salt Lake City UT
At 531 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Bluffdale, or 10 miles southwest of Sandy, moving northeast at 10
mph.
HAZARD…Pea size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Minor damage to outdoor objects is possible.
Locations impacted include…
South Jordan, Lehi, Draper, Riverton, American Fork, Herriman, Eagle
Mountain, Alpine, Bluffdale, Camp Williams, Saratoga Springs, and
Highland.
This includes Interstate 15 between mile markers 280 and 290.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
