Special Weather Statement issued July 16 at 4:17PM CDT by NWS Norman OK
At 417 PM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from 5 miles northwest of Stonewall to 5 miles
southeast of Asher to 3 miles north of Rosedale. Movement was north
at 35 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts of 40 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Eastern Norman, Ada, Tecumseh, Pink, Konawa, Byng, Maud, Allen,
Earlsboro, Stonewall, Bowlegs, Asher, Tribbey, Wanette, Francis,
Byars, St. Louis, Sasakwa, Etowah, and Atwood.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
