Special Weather Statement issued July 16 at 3:58PM EDT by NWS Miami FL

At 358 PM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists were tracking
a strong thunderstorm over West Little River, or over Hialeah, moving
north at 5 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts of 50 to 55 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Miami, Hialeah, Pembroke Pines, Hollywood, Miramar, Davie, Miami
Beach, Coral Gables, Hallandale, Miami Gardens, Virginia Key, Weston,
North Miami, Doral, North Miami Beach, Aventura, Dania Beach, Miami
Lakes, Cooper City, and Hialeah Gardens.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
