Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 16 at 7:26PM MDT until July 16 at 7:45PM MDT by NWS Billings MT
At 726 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 15 miles east of
Ryegate, or 21 miles west of Roundup, moving southeast at 20 mph.
HAZARD…70 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE…Trained spotters reported 70 mph winds 12 miles NW of Lavina
at 715 PM.
IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect considerable
tree damage. Wind damage is also likely to mobile homes,
roofs, and outbuildings.
Locations impacted include…
Mainly rural areas of Central Golden Valley County.
Anyone outdoors should move to shelter inside a well-built structure
and stay away from windows. This storm has produced widespread
damaging winds and is capable of producing large hail.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
