Special Weather Statement issued July 11 at 5:31PM EDT by NWS Jacksonville FL
At 530 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms over western Duval, western Nassau, and northern Clay
counties. A particularly strong thunderstorm over Cecil Field, or 10
miles west of Orange Park, is moving southwest at 5 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Jacksonville, Orange Park, Hilliard, Callahan, Jacksonville
International Arpt, Middleburg, Cisco Gardens, Ortega, Oakleaf
Plantation, and Cecil Field.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
