Flood Advisory issued July 11 at 3:11PM CDT until July 11 at 6:15PM CDT by NWS New Orleans LA
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…South Central East Baton Rouge Parish in southeastern
Louisiana…
* WHEN…Until 615 PM CDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 311 PM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is already occurring in the
advisory area. Up to 2 inches of rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 2 inches are expected over the
area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Baton Rouge, Inniswold, Merrydale, Central, Shenandoah, Old
Jefferson, Brownfields and Baton Rouge Airport.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Please report observed flooding to local emergency services or law
enforcement and request they pass this information to the National
Weather Service when you can do so safely.
