Special Weather Statement issued July 10 at 3:46PM EDT by NWS Peachtree City GA

At 346 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Vinings, or 7 miles
north of Atlanta, moving east at 15 mph.

HAZARD…40 to 50 mph wind, pea sized hail and frequent cloud to
ground lightning.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light, unsecured objects.

Atlanta, Decatur, Sandy Springs, Smyrna, Dunwoody, Chamblee,
Doraville, Clarkston, North Decatur, North Atlanta, North Druid
Hills, Midtown, Druid Hills, Tucker, Vinings, Piedmont Park,
Brookhaven, East Lake, Little Five Points, and Atlantic Station.

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. If you can hear
thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
