Special Weather Statement issued July 10 at 3:10PM EDT by NWS Northern Indiana

At 310 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a cluster of strong
thunderstorms along a line extending from near La Fontaine to near
Peru. Movement was southeast at 35 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and half inch hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Marion, Peru, Wabash, Grissom Afb, Sweetser, Bunker Hill, La
Fontaine, Van Buren, Wells, Miami, Converse, Warren, Lancaster,
Amboy, Onward, Mount Etna, Mcnatts, Richvalley, Landess, and Liberty
Center.

This includes Interstate 69 in Indiana between mile markers 266 and
284.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with these storms.
Lightning can strike 10 miles away from a thunderstorm. Seek a safe
shelter inside a building or vehicle.
