Special Weather Statement issued July 8 at 8:22PM EDT by NWS Wilmington NC

At 822 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Willard to near Edgecomb. Movement was
northeast at 5 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph and pea size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Surf City, Topsail Beach, Penderlea, White Stocking, Maple Hill,
Murray Town, Willard, Woodside, Edgecomb, and Watha.

This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 388 and 400.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
