At 218 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Hammocks Beach, or 13 miles southeast of Piney Green, moving
southeast at 25 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 40 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Morehead City, Swansboro, Cape Carteret, Hammocks Beach, Bogue Inlet
Pier, Hammocks Beach State Park, and Cedar Point.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
