At 712 PM EDT, a strong thunderstorm was over Mableton, or 7 miles
northwest of Atlanta, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…40 mph wind and heavy rain.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Expect minor damage to tree limbs and blowing around of
light, unsecured objects. Heavy rain may cause temporary
street flooding especially in poor drainage areas.

Atlanta, Marietta, Douglasville, City of South Fulton, Sandy Springs,
Smyrna, Kennesaw, Acworth, Powder Springs, Austell, Lithia Springs,
Fair Oaks, Sweetwater Creek State Park, White Water Park, Vinings,
Jim R Miller Park, Bankhead, Six Flags Over Georgia, Due West, and
Bolton.

People outdoors should seek shelter immediately. Motorists should
slow down and be prepared for possible loss of control due to
hydroplaning.
