Special Weather Statement issued July 5 at 4:24PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM

At 424 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong outflow gusts from
strong thunderstorms extending from 13 miles west of Los Lunas to 9
miles northeast of Meadow Lake, moving north at 35 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Albuquerque, Rio Rancho, Los Lunas, Bernalillo, Corrales, Los
Ranchos De Albuquerque, Bosque Farms, Tijeras, South Valley and
Paradise Hills.

This includes the following highways…
Interstate 40 between Mile Markers 136 and 174. Highway 550 between
Mile Markers 1 and 3. Interstate 25 between Mile Markers 204 and 243.

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce
visibility below one quarter mile at times.
