At 1058 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated strong thunderstorms, capable
of producing winds to around 30 knots. These thunderstorms were
located along a line extending from 8 nm N of South Amboy to the
entrance to New York Harbor to 9 nm N of Shark River Reef, moving
E at 25 kt.

Thunderstorms will be near…

The entrance to New York Harbor, Lower New York Harbor, Rockaway
Inlet, and the Verrazano Narrows Bridge around 1105 PM EDT.
Jamaica Bay and Upper New York Harbor around 1110 PM EDT.
Barnum Island and Island Park around 1120 PM EDT.
Jones Beach, Jones Inlet, and Middle Bay around 1125 PM EDT.
East Bay around 1135 PM EDT.

These strong thunderstorms will likely produce winds to around 30
knots, and could pose a serious hazard for boaters. A special marine
warning may eventually be required. Boaters should consider heading
for shore before these thunderstorms arrive.
