Special Weather Statement issued July 3 at 10:16PM EDT by NWS Northern Indiana
At 1015 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm near
Hamilton, or 7 miles south of Angola, moving east at 40 mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and pea size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor hail damage to vegetation is
possible.
Locations impacted include…
Angola, Bryan, Montpelier, Butler, Waterloo, Edgerton, Hamilton,
Pioneer, Edon, Holiday City, Edgerton In Williams County, Columbia,
West Jefferson, Ashley, Hudson, Blakeslee, Alvarado, Fairfield
Center, Melbern, and Pleasant Lake.
This includes the following highways…
Interstate 69 in Indiana between mile markers 334 and 349.
Interstate 80 in Indiana between mile markers 153 and 156.
Interstate 80 in Ohio between mile markers 0 and 13.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with this storm and may lead to
localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
