Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued July 1 at 4:34PM MDT until July 1 at 4:45PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM
At 434 PM MDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 13 miles north of
Melrose, or 24 miles northwest of Clovis, moving northeast at 25 mph.
HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and small hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include…
Mainly rural areas of West Central Curry and South Central Quay
Counties.
Seek shelter inside a well-built structure and stay away from
windows. This storm is capable of producing damaging winds.
Continuous cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm.
Lightning is one of nature’s leading killers. Remember, if you can
hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning.
Blowing dust associated with strong thunderstorm winds can reduce
visibility below one quarter mile at times.
