At 1023 AM EDT, National Weather Service meteorologists detected a
strong thunderstorm, capable of producing wind gusts near 30 knots.
This thunderstorm was located 15 nm south of D Tower, moving
northwest at 5 knots.
The strong thunderstorm will remain over mainly open waters.
Prepare for thunderstorms with wind gusts near 30 knots, locally
rough and confused seas, occasional lightning strikes, and
potentially blinding downpours. Get to a safe port as quickly, and as
safely as possible. When downpours reduce visibility, slow down.
