Special Weather Statement issued June 18 at 7:44PM MDT by NWS Albuquerque NM

At 744 PM MDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm 5
miles northwest of Gran Quivira, or 33 miles south of Estancia,
moving southeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and nickel size hail.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Minor damage to outdoor objects is
possible.

Locations impacted include…
Gran Quivira and Claunch.

Monitor the weather situation closely and be alert for threatening
weather conditions.

This storm may intensify, so be certain to monitor local radio
stations and available television stations for additional information
and possible warnings from the National Weather Service.
