Special Weather Statement issued June 16 at 4:15PM EDT by NWS Melbourne FL

At 415 PM EDT, Doppler radar was tracking a strong thunderstorm over
Blue Cypress Lake, moving northeast at 20 mph.

HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph.

SOURCE…Radar indicated.

IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects.

Locations impacted include…
Palm Bay, Melbourne, Sebastian, Fellsmere, and Malabar.

If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.

Frequent cloud to ground lightning is occurring with this storm. Seek
safe shelter inside a sturdy building or hard-topped vehicle.
Remember, lightning can strike beyond 10 miles away from a
thunderstorm. When thunder roars, go indoors!
