Flood Advisory issued June 14 at 1:34AM CDT until June 14 at 5:00AM CDT by NWS Chicago IL
* WHAT…Minor flooding caused by thunderstorms producing torrential
downpours is expected.
* WHERE…Portions of northeast Illinois, including the following
counties, Cook and Will and northwest Indiana, including the
following county, Lake IN.
* WHEN…Until 500 AM CDT.
* IMPACTS…Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 134 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms.
– Additional rainfall amounts locally up to 2 inches are
expected over the area. This additional rain will result in
minor flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Merrillville, Chicago Heights, Schererville, Hobart, Lansing,
Crown Point, Highland, Munster, Park Forest, Homewood, Cedar
Lake, Steger, Griffith, Dyer, St. John, Sauk Village,
Flossmoor, Lynwood, Glenwood and Crete.
