Special Weather Statement issued June 13 at 1:25AM CDT by NWS Amarillo TX
At 122 AM CDT, Doppler radar was tracking strong thunderstorms along
a line extending from Boys Ranch to Glenrio. Movement was east at 45
mph.
HAZARD…Wind gusts up to 50 mph and heavy rainfall.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Gusty winds could knock down tree limbs and blow around
unsecured objects. Heavy rainfall with rates exceeding 1
inch per hour may lead to flooding of low lying and poor
drainage areas.
Locations impacted include…
Vega, Adrian, Boys Ranch, Glenrio, Wildorado, and Valley De Oro.
This includes Interstate 40 between mile markers 1 and 54.
If outdoors, consider seeking shelter inside a building.
Torrential rainfall is also occurring with these storms and may lead
to localized flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded
roadways.
