Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 12 at 11:04PM CDT until June 12 at 11:30PM CDT by NWS Goodland KS
At 1104 PM CDT, a severe thunderstorm was located 10 miles north of
Winona, or 11 miles south of Brewster, moving east at 25 mph.
HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and quarter size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Hail damage to vehicles is expected. Expect wind damage to
roofs, siding, and trees.
This severe thunderstorm will remain over mainly rural areas of
southwestern Thomas County.
This includes Interstate 70 in Kansas between mile markers 47 and 52.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
This thunderstorm is producing accumulating hail, which will make
driving hazardous, similar to snow or ice. If you must travel, be
aware of rapidly changing road conditions.
Torrential rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to
flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
