Flood Advisory issued June 12 at 2:06AM CDT until June 12 at 5:15AM CDT by NWS Paducah KY

* WHAT…Urban and small stream flooding caused by excessive
rainfall is expected.

* WHERE…Portions of southern Illinois, including the following
county, Jackson and southeast Missouri, including the following
county, Perry.

* WHEN…Until 515 AM CDT.

* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 204 AM CDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. This will cause urban and small stream
flooding. Between 1 and 1.5 inches of rain have fallen in
Perry County and up to 1 inch in Jackson County.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Carbondale, Perryville, Murphysboro, De Soto, Elkville,
Hurst, Ava, Grand Tower, Altenburg, Cedar Lake Area, Makanda,
Dowell, Campbell Hill, Vergennes, Frohna, Gorham, Longtown,
Old Appleton, Lithium and Silver Lake.

Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
