Flood Advisory issued June 10 at 8:43PM EDT until June 10 at 11:45PM EDT by NWS Cleveland OH
* WHAT…Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.
* WHERE…A portion of northeast Ohio, including the following
county, Summit.
* WHEN…Until 1145 PM EDT.
* IMPACTS…Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 843 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to
thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly in the advisory area. Between 1.5 and 2 inches of
rain have fallen.
– Additional rainfall amounts up to 1 inch are expected over
the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding.
– Some locations that will experience flooding include…
Akron, Barberton, Green, New Franklin, Norton, Lakemore and
Portage Lakes.
– Please visit www.weather.gov/safety/flood for flood safety
and preparedness information.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
