Flood Warning issued April 6 at 10:24AM CDT until April 12 at 1:00PM CDT by NWS Chicago IL

…The Flood Warning is extended for the following rivers in
Illinois…

Des Plaines River near Gurnee affecting Lake IL County.

Des Plaines River near Russell affecting Lake IL County.

Kishwaukee River near Perryville affecting Winnebago County.

…The Flood Warning continues for the following rivers in Indiana…

Kankakee River at Dunns Bridge affecting Porter and Jasper
Counties.

Kankakee River at Shelby affecting Lake IN and Newton Counties.

For the Des Plaines River…including Russell, Gurnee, Lincolnshire,
Des Plaines, River Forest, Riverside…Minor flooding is forecast.

* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.

* WHERE…Kankakee River from US-421 south of La Crosse downstream
to IN-49 south of Kouts, including the Dunns Bridge gauge.

* WHEN…Until early Sunday afternoon.

* IMPACTS…At 12.0 feet, Structures threatened near IN-49 and the
river. Backwater on a drainage canal threatens 1200 South Road
east of IN-49.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 10:00 AM CDT Monday the stage was 11.0 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:00 AM CDT Monday was 11.0 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.5
feet early Wednesday morning. It is forecast to fall below
flood stage Sunday morning.
– Flood stage is 10.0 feet.

A Flood Warning means water levels above flood stage are imminent or
may already be occurring. Persons along rivers and streams in the
warned area should take immediate precautions to protect life and
property.

These forecasts are based on observed precipitation as well as
forecast precipitation 24 hours into the future. Changes to the
rainfall forecast, or any additional rainfall after 24 hours, may
cause changes to these river forecasts.
