* WHAT…Minor flooding is occurring and minor flooding is forecast.
* WHERE…Muskegon River at Newaygo.
* WHEN…Until early Thursday morning.
* IMPACTS…At 12.0 feet, Flood water begins surrounding cottages
and homes downstream from the City of Newaygo in the area of
Sycamore Flats in Ashland Township.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…
– At 10:45 AM EDT Monday the stage was 11.6 feet.
– Bankfull stage is 10.0 feet.
– Recent Activity…The maximum river stage in the 24 hours
ending at 10:45 AM EDT Monday was 11.6 feet.
– Forecast…The river is expected to rise to a crest of 11.6
feet this afternoon. It will then fall below flood stage
Wednesday evening.
– Flood stage is 11.0 feet.
– Flood History…This crest compares to a previous crest of
11.6 feet on 05/10/2004.
