Severe Thunderstorm Warning issued June 18 at 12:05PM EDT until June 18 at 12:15PM EDT by NWS Binghamton NY
At 1205 PM EDT, severe thunderstorms were located along a line
extending from Cincinnatus to near Chemung, moving east at 55 mph.
HAZARD…60 mph wind gusts and penny size hail.
SOURCE…Radar indicated.
IMPACT…Expect damage to roofs, siding, and trees.
Locations impacted include…
Chemung, Elmira, Cortland, Southport, Barton, Waverly, Owego, Danby,
Homer, and Caroline.
A Tornado Watch remains in effect until 300 PM EDT for central New
York.
Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly
from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the
basement or small central room in a sturdy structure.
For your protection move to an interior room on the lowest floor of a
building.
