The National Weather Service in Flagstaff has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for…
Coconino County in north central Arizona…
* Until 830 PM MST.
* At 527 PM MST, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated
thunderstorms producing heavy rain upstream of Oak Creek near
Munds Park. Between 0.75 and 1.75 inches of rain have fallen.
Additional rainfall amounts up to 0.5 inches are possible in the
warned area. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to begin
shortly.
HAZARD…Life threatening flash flooding. Thunderstorms
producing flash flooding.

IMPACT…Life threatening flash flooding of creeks and streams,
normally dry washes, urban areas, highways, streets
and underpasses.

Sedona, Schnebly Hill Overlook, Munds Park, Munds Mountain
Wilderness, Indian Gardens, Uptown Sedona and Red Rock-Secret
Mountain Wilderness.

State Route 179 near mile marker 313.
State Route 89A between mile markers 374 and 380.

Encinoso, Grasshopper Point and Midgely Bridge.
This includes the following creeks, washes and rivers…
Oak Creek.
Instructions:
Move to higher ground now. Act quickly to protect your life.
Stay away or be swept away! The banks of creeks and washes are
unstable and unsafe during any flooding event.
Low water crossings will become dangerous in heavy rain. Do not
attempt to cross flooded roads. Find an alternate route.
Get out of washes and creeks if you are camping or hiking! Flooding
is occurring or imminent and will inundate creeks and washes.
