The National Weather Service in Los Angeles/Oxnard has issued a
* Flash Flood Warning for…
Central and Southern Los Angeles County in southwestern California
including the Eaton Burn Scar…
* Until 200 PM PST.
* At 1057 AM PST, Doppler radar indicated thunderstorms producing
heavy rain across the warned area. The expected rainfall rate is
0.5 to 1 inch in 1 hour. Flash flooding is ongoing or expected to
begin shortly.
HAZARD…Flash flooding caused by thunderstorms.
SOURCE…Radar.
IMPACT…Flash flooding of small creeks and streams, urban
areas, highways, streets and underpasses as well as
other poor drainage and low-lying areas. Rock and mud
slides. Minor debris flows at recent burn scars
including the Eaton burn scar.

Long Beach, Downtown Los Angeles, Griffith Park, Hollywood,
Inglewood, Culver City, Burbank, Alhambra, North Hollywood,
Pasadena, Venice, Santa Monica, Manhattan Beach, Van Nuys, Hermosa
Beach, Torrance, Encino, Redondo Beach, Mount Wilson, and Eaton
Burn Scar.
Turn around, don’t drown when encountering flooded roads. Most flood
deaths occur in vehicles.
Be aware of your surroundings and do not drive on flooded roads, and
be aware of rock slides and mud slides around high terrain.
Follow direction of Emergency Management and Law Enforcement
officials.
