* WHAT…Visibility as low as one-quarter mile in dense fog.
* WHERE…Anchorage, Central Susitna Valley, Lower Matanuska Valley,
and NW Kenai Peninsula.
* WHEN…Until 9 AM AKST this morning.
* IMPACTS…Hazardous driving conditions due to low visibility.
Below freezing temperatures may lead to frost on bridges and
roadways.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Areas of fog have developed over northwest
Kenai Peninsula and northern Cook Inlet and along the Knik Arm,
and are expanding over the Palmer Hay Flats and Anchorage Bowl.
Another area of fog is lingering near Talkeetna and the Parks
Highway. These areas of fog have been somewhat transient, but are
now expanding in coverage with visibilities dropping below a half
mile at times. The fog is expected to dissipate by mid to late
morning.
A dense fog advisory means visibilities will frequently be reduced
to one quarter mile or less. If driving, slow down, use your
headlights, and leave plenty of distance ahead of you. Also, be
alert for frost on bridge decks and roadways causing slippery
conditions.
