Winter Storm Warning issued February 16 at 1:38AM AKST until February 18 at 3:00PM AKST by NWS Fairbanks AK
* WHAT…Heavy snow expected. Total snow accumulations between 7 and
12 inches. Winds gusting as high as 30 mph.
* WHERE…Eastern Norton Sound and Nulato Hills and Interior Seward
Peninsula.
* WHEN…From 3 AM Tuesday to 3 PM AKST Wednesday.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…Winds along the eastern Norton Sound, near
Unalakleet, could see gusts as high as 50 mph.
If you must travel, keep an extra flashlight, food, and water in
your vehicle in case of an emergency.
