Winter Storm Watch issued February 15 at 8:48AM AKST until February 18 at 3:00PM AKST by NWS Fairbanks AK
* WHAT…Blizzard conditions possible. Total snow accumulations
between 6 and 12 inches possible. Winds could gust as high as 60
mph.
* WHERE…Eastern Norton Sound and Nulato Hills, Interior Seward
Peninsula, and Southern Seward Peninsula Coast.
* WHEN…From Monday afternoon through Wednesday afternoon.
* IMPACTS…Travel could be very difficult. Areas of blowing snow
could significantly reduce visibility.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS…A strong front will bring very strong
east-southeast winds, heavy snow and blizzard conditions across
most of the West Coast. Significant blowing and drifting snow as
well as whiteout conditions are possible as the front passes
through. The strongest portion of the front will exit Tuesday
midday, then periods of snow and lighter winds should persist at
times through Wednesday.
